I have been passionate about music for as long as I can remember. At the age of 6 or 7, my parents bought me my first instrument, and several years later, I discovered my love for playing the saxophone. With guidance from talented mentors and tutors, I honed my saxophone skills while performing in local bands and music groups. These experiences not only enhanced my playing but also deepened my understanding of how a saxophone should sound and feel, shaping me into the skilled saxophonist I am today

 

My journey into instrument repair began in 2020. After years of playing music, I noticed my saxophone wasn’t performing like it used to. Certain notes were off, the mechanisms weren’t functioning properly, and the instrument simply didn’t feel right. I quickly realized there was a shortage of skilled instrument repair technicians in Hawke’s Bay. With repair shops in Auckland and Wellington being overwhelmed, the time and cost involved in sending my saxophone away for repairs became impractical. That's when I decided to learn instrument repair, with the goal of serving the local music community in Hawke's Bay and providing a much-needed service to musicians right here at home

 

Studying under Bruce Marking, an expert with over 40 years of experience in woodwind repair, was truly a dream come true. His expertise and guidance have been invaluable in refining my repair skills.

 

I am incredibly proud of the work I’m doing to support musicians and students in Hawke’s Bay by providing instrument repairs that not only improve performance but also inspire a deeper love for music. By helping instruments play at their best, I aim to fuel the passion of musicians and encourage them to share their music with others. I look forward to hearing your story and assisting you in getting your instrument in top playing condition

Our store is perfectly setup for all your repair needs to get you playing again as quickly as possible. 

 

Whether you need a basic check up, a few adjustments, replace a pad or two, right through to a full clean, oil, adjust service we are here to help. 

 

We specialise in saxophone repair but can also assist with clarinet repairs. We love our workshop in sunny Hawkes Bay and know you will too. 

 

We are open Monday-Friday 4pm-8pm & Saturday 10am-5pm by Appointment only. Please contact us to book a time to visit.
